MOD-U-BLAST PMB Series

Finishing Rx offers the MOD-U-BLAST PMB Series Blast Cabinets. They are meticulously designed for optimal performance with recyclable blast media that have a bulk density not exceeding 75. These machines are highly compatible with a variety of media types, including plastic media, corn cob, nut shells, and wheat sand size to ensure the best results. Moreover, to maintain peak performance and prevent any potential issues, it is recommended that the blast media be pretreated with an anti-static agent to avoid build-up within the system. This pretreatment step is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the internal components over extended periods of use.

The PMB-Series machines by Mod-U-Blast® are engineered with an advanced reclaim system specifically designed for the efficient recycling of lightweight abrasives. This system utilizes a sophisticated 3-stage adjustable reclaimer to maximize efficiency and reduce waste, thereby extending the lifespan of the blast media. In the first stage, dust separation is achieved through the application of centrifugal force, which effectively separates heavier particles by keeping them to the outside wall of the cyclone. Dust and lighter, broken-down media are drawn from the cyclone center at a lower speed, ensuring that reusable media is not discarded prematurely. This dust is then exhausted to the collector, maintaining a clean and efficient system.

The second stage involves the removal of oversized particles. This is accomplished through the use of a pneumatically vibrated perforated trash screen. Only smaller particles, such as reusable abrasives and any metallic debris, are allowed to proceed to the next stage. This stage ensures that larger, potentially damaging particles are filtered out, thus protecting the integrity of the blasting process.

In the third and final stage, ferrous particle removal is conducted. All materials that have passed through the first two stages are subjected to a magnetic field, where any ferrous particles are trapped. This crucial step eliminates possible damage to the substrate being blasted, ensuring a high-quality finish. The magnetic particle separator grill can be easily removed, allowing for the straightforward discarding of collected particles. This ease of maintenance is a significant advantage, as it minimizes downtime and keeps the system running smoothly.
