Ceramic Media
Ceramic abrasive media is a popular choice for vibratory deburring processes due to its durability, efficiency, and versatility in removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from a variety of materials including metal and plastic. With its long lifespan and reliable performance, ceramic media is well-suited for mass finishing applications. Available in different shapes, sizes, and compositions from multiple suppliers, this media caters to various deburring requirements. Its combination of longevity, availability, versatility, and effectiveness solidifies ceramic media as a top choice in vibratory finishing applications.
Bulk Weight of Ceramic Media: 80-110 #/ cubic foot
Polishing – excellent wear and without any abrasives. For burnishing, polishing and driving loose abrasive
Polishing/Light Cut – A ceramic media for general finishing and edge-break with excellent wear compared to regular ceramics
Light Cutting – For light finishing with exceptional wear. Leaves bright finish when used with proper compounds
Medium Cutting – Industry Standard used for general finishing, good metal removal and exceptional wear. Performs in a wide variety of deburr, deflash and radius applications
Fast Cutting – A faster cutting composition fitting between general purpose and the ultra-fast cutting compositions. It provides a higher rate of metal removal than General Purpose with only a slightly higher media loss. It is recommended for obtaining shorter time cycles on medium and heavy burrs.
Ultra Fast Cutting – The most aggressive ceramic cutting media. Recommended for all heavy deburring operations. It gives great amounts of cutdown in short time cycles and still retains good wear characteristics. Leaves parts with a matte finish, but with proper compounding, the parts will be clean and free of oxide impregnation.
Silicon Carbide Specialty Media
A media used where aluminum oxide impregnation can not be tolerated such as braising, welding or soldering. Offered in multiple compositions from light cutting, general purpose, and fast cutting – depending on the application.
